The rules in detail

In the French Loto, a grid has 5 numbers from 1 to 49 and one numéro Chance from 1 to 10, which is a separate pick. Rank 1 needs all five numbers and the numéro Chance, at 1 in 19,068,840. Rank 2 is five numbers without the numéro Chance.

A simple combination, meaning one grid of 5 numbers and a numéro Chance, costs 2.20 EUR. The optional 2nd Tirage adds 0.80 EUR. Players can also mark 5 to 9 numbers on one grid. Each group of five inside the marks counts as a combination and is priced from the table in FDJ's rules, and 9 numbers contain 126 such groups.

Draws are on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 20:20 Paris time. The operator is La Française des Jeux (FDJ), and the rules quoted here are the version applicable from 31 March 2025.
