The rules in detail

Loto 7 asks for 7 different numbers from 1 to 37. One unit costs 300 yen. The seller is the Zenkoku Jichi Takarakuji group, the same body that sells Loto 6.

Two Bonus Numbers are drawn together with the 7 main numbers, and players do not choose them. They have no effect on 1st prize. The odds for 1st prize are 1 in 10,295,472, which is the number of ways to pick 7 numbers from 37.

There is one draw a week, on Friday, and none during the New Year period.
